Another unforgettable experience for our Zagreb students! Marta Lauš, a second-year Gastronomy student, Antun Gašpar Bendeviš, a second-year International Hospitality and Tourism Management student, and Kaja Vekić, a first-year Gastronomy student, took part in a workshop held at D-Resort in Šibenik.
The workshop was led by Endrina Muqaj, winner of MasterChef 2025, who involved the students in preparing sushi and cocktails for a group of 39 guests staying at the resort as part of a team-building event. Through hands-on experience, the students gained new knowledge, developed professional skills, and learned about event organization in a high-end hospitality environment catering to larger groups of guests.

Here is what Marta Lauš had to say about the experience:
We travelled to Šibenik, where we had the opportunity to participate in a sushi and cocktail workshop at D-Resort alongside MasterChef winner Endrina. Together, we prepared sushi and two types of cocktails for a group of 39 guests. It was an incredibly valuable and engaging experience through which we gained practical knowledge about sushi preparation, proper rolling techniques, presentation, and cocktail creation. Beyond the culinary aspect, we also learned about the organization and logistics involved in hosting events for larger groups, giving us insight into the professional standards of the hospitality industry. On top of everything, we had a great time!
Combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience
Activities such as these provide students with valuable hands-on experience, expose them to the latest gastronomic trends, and contribute to the development of organizational and communication skills that are essential in the hospitality and tourism sectors.
