At today’s workshop, “Generative AI in Scientific Writing: Pitfalls and Effective Strategies for Doctoral Students and Researchers,” held as part of the EDIH Adria 2.0 project, the participants from Aspira University of Applied Sciences included Dean Alen Jerkunica, along with colleagues Petra Mandac, Josip Radić, and Bepo Žura.
During the workshop, they explored the opportunities and challenges of using generative artificial intelligence in scientific research and academic writing. Through practical demonstrations and interactive exercises, they gained valuable insights into the responsible and effective use of tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and SciSpace for literature searches, scientific source analysis, research idea development, and academic writing.
The workshop placed particular emphasis on critically evaluating AI-generated content, identifying fabricated references and other common AI errors, and applying advanced prompting techniques to obtain more accurate and reliable results.
By participating in this workshop, our colleagues further strengthened their digital competencies and enhanced their ability to integrate artificial intelligence into research and academic practice.
