By participation of more than 40 tourism and sports organizations, associations, clubs and institutions, the first Career Day was successfully organized by Aspira, in cooperation with partners for the Aspira students of Sports Management and International Management in Hospitality and Tourism.
After the introductory words of the Dean, Marko Jelić, Ph.D., CEO, Alen Jerkunica and Head of the Aspira Career Centre, Martina Petrović and director of the Tourist Board of Split – Dalmatia County, Joško Stella, almost all of the most respected hotel companies from Dubrovnik to Savudrija were presented to students. In individual interviews candidates, who will during the education at the College Aspira do their practice at their facilities were selected. Students of the Sports Management at the beginning heard short presentation of sports clubs, associations and institutions, after which each of the students had the opportunity to probably do their first job interviews.
Career Day is in a way recruit centre for many respectable companies that have selected, based on their demands, the students with whom they could achieve more concrete cooperation. Representatives of the following hotels expressed their satisfaction with the event: Kempinski Hotel Adriatic, Le Meridien Hotel Lav, Solaris Beach Resort, Radisson Blu Hotel, Split Hotel Park, the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik, Atrium, Damianii, Cornaro, Vestibul, Villa Adriatica, Linden Tree Retreat Ranch and many others. Among the athletes organizations such as HNK Hajduk, RNK Split, KK Split, RK Nada Split, the Croatian Olympic Committee, the Football Association of the County of Split – Dalmatia, Split Sports Association, Forum of the Olympic Sport Clubs Split FOKSS, JK Labud, Gymnastic Club Marjan, OVK POŠK, Hockey Club Spartan Split, Sail la Vie d.o.o, Sports marketing agency Overtime, Hall of Fame of Split Sport and others.
Given that students are required to perform the professional practice in accordance with the curriculum of study programs, meeting with potential employers will be of huge importance in further education and acquisition of professional competencies
