On Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 12:00 University College Aspira and Adriatic Croatia International Club (ACI) signed an agreement on cooperation of personnel education through international training programs for the training of marina staff. The ceremony was attended by Ms Gracia Krainer, Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing of ACI, Director of the University College Aspira Milivoj Jerkunica and Chairman of Council of the University College Aspira Alen Jerkunica. ACI is a leading Croatian nautical company, established on July 1, 1983. ACI marina strategically scattered its facilities from Umag in the far north to Dubrovnik in the far south, and today includes 22 marinas annually visited by 400 thousand sailors. According to Ms Krainer: “We are aware that only by educating our staff, we can achieve high standard in the marinas and we recognized University College Aspira as a quality institution, an institution that performs programs focused exclusively on marinas which is very important to us because it is a specialized niche.” This cooperation has been recognized as a significant step forward in the Croatian nautical tourism because University College Aspira is the first institution in Croatia that organized training, designed to develop human resources in nautical tourism. ACI club thereby proved that it recognizes that the future of the development of modern marinas is investment in human resource development.
