3rd year Gastronomy students at Aspira in Split and Zagreb visited Slovenia and Italy as a part of a study trip, enjoying some of the best restaurants that can be visited.
Part of the students started from Split, and when they gathered their other colleagues in Zagreb, almost thirty of them headed for Ljubljana, where they stayed at Hotel Meksiko and enjoyed dinner by chef Jorg Zupan, who is also the proud owner of a Michelin recommendation in restaurant AFTR.
After a great dinner from Ljubljana, they headed to the Vipava Winemaking Museum and visited the Movia cellar. After acquiring additional knowledge about wines, a dinner at the Dam restaurant in Nova Gorica was followed by chef Uroš Fakuć, who is also the owner of a Michelin star. After dinner, they stayed at the Kozana Hotel.
The third day of the trip, also the last was in the full sense of the word sugar at the end. The students arrived in Italy in the morning and visited the factory for the production of balsamic vinegar and then went to lunch at a restaurant with two Michelin stars – the widely known restaurant Agli Amici.
Through a whole series of sequences and socializing with the hosts and with each other, the students experienced a special gastronomic experience and received a reference that they will have to strive for in the continuation of their education, but also in the future development of their careers.
