Our colleagues from the Office for International Cooperation, Josip Radić and Petra Mandac, participated in an Erasmus+ Staff Mobility programme by attending the intensive professional training course “Motivation and Self-Development” at the TeneLearning Centre in Tenerife. This international training provided a valuable opportunity for the development of both professional and personal competences in the inspiring setting of one of Spain’s most beautiful islands.
During several days of education focused on motivation, self-development and strengthening professional skills, Josip and Petra gained new knowledge and perspectives that will contribute in the long term to the work of the entire team and the development of our institution. Participation in the Erasmus Staff programme once again confirmed the importance of lifelong learning and international cooperation in higher education.
Meeting Erasmus Students on Mobility
Their stay in Tenerife was further enriched by a visit to our students Denisa Hodaj, Nikolina Ravenor, Kristina Janjić and Nika Radičanin, who are currently participating in Erasmus student mobility on the island. The students shared their experiences of studying abroad, adapting to a new environment and everyday life in Tenerife, highlighting once again the strong connection between students and staff within the Erasmus+ community.
Natural Beauty of Tenerife and Teide National Park
In addition to the educational programme, Josip and Petra had the opportunity to explore the impressive natural beauty of Tenerife. They were particularly fascinated by Teide National Park, home to the majestic Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain. The dramatic volcanic landscapes, geological diversity and panoramic views stretching to the horizon leave a powerful impression and reflect the extraordinary strength of nature.
Botanical Garden and Native Flora of the Canary Islands
One of the highlights of the visit was the botanical garden, where they had the opportunity to learn about the native flora of the Canary Islands. The garden showcases more than 75% of the plant species found in the park, including numerous endemic species adapted to the demanding volcanic conditions. A walk through this unique environment was both educational and relaxing, offering deeper insight into the richness and diversity of this remarkable ecosystem.
A Valuable Erasmus Experience for the Future
Overall, the Erasmus Staff Mobility in Tenerife proved to be an exceptionally valuable experience, combining professional development, personal enrichment and international cooperation. Josip and Petra returned with new ideas, renewed motivation and inspiration for further development of international projects, as well as unforgettable memories of Tenerife, its people and its natural wonders.
