The “Run of Hope” race brought together over a hundred runners, including users of the Juraj Bonači Center, students, recreational athletes, and other citizens united in the common goal of raising funds for Juraj Bonači.
This race exemplifies that education is not merely theoretical; students can actively enhance community life through practical engagement. As part of the “Sports Marketing” course at Aspira University of Applied Sciences, under the supervision of teachers Julija Hrstić and Josip Reić, students diligently organized every aspect of this event over several months—from event planning and sponsor solicitation to encouraging runner to register. The event’s promotion received support from renowned athletes and musicians.
The race commenced at 11 a.m. from the Spinut gate of Marjan, with the fastest runners completing the six-kilometer course to the Institute and back in just over 20 minutes.
In the men’s category, Ante Vrca claimed first place, followed by Mario Klapić in second, and Duje Šalov in third. Among women, Tea Vuletić crossed the finish line first, with Lea Ćaleta in second place, and Dubravka Matić securing the bronze medal. Notably, medals were awarded not only to the fastest runners but to all participants who supported the cause through donations and running.
The race received generous support from sponsors including Hrvatska pošta, Optika Gvozdanović, Zrno soli, and Leda. Special thanks is extended to Marjan Forest Park, the Teaching Institute for Public Health of Split-Dalmatia County, and the Red Cross.
The initiative continues beyond the race day, accepting donations until the last day of May. Contributions can be made to the following IBAN: HR4424840081502031753, Raiffeisen bank dd
