Minister of tourism visited Aspira as a part of Aspira Open Day and emphasized that high quality education is the main precondition for tourism development. The Minister participated in the culinary workshop with Aspira Gastronomy students and famous chef, Filip Horvat.
Minister Cappelli was very excited by his visit to Aspira University College, as he is a keen supporter of its work from the very beginning. The Minister visited the College in the company of state secretary, Tonći Glavina. Although students have guided him all around Aspira’s headquarters, the Minister spent most of his time in culinary practicum. He joked that he has been a gastronomy student for the past fifty years, but only inside his own house. The Minister, who loves preparing fish, has spent all his life involved in culinary arts, showing great appreciation for it. This is why he decided to freshen up his knowledge and visit the culinary practicum of the only Gastronomy study in the region.
– Congratulations to Aspira on creating quality employees that will give their best to Croatia. The jobs your students will perform in future are becoming more and more important every day. You are the pride of Croatian tourism! Guests wish to feel the tastes and scents of Croatia, and that is the thing you can give them!
The Minister gladly wore Aspira’s kitchen uniform and cap and, together with the Dean, Alen Jerkunica, helped the students to prepare the beefsteak risotto. The whole culinary event was closely mentored by one of the most promising young chefs and Aspira’s lecturers– Filip Horvat. The Minister was rewarded for his extraordinary culinary talent by “The Master of Risotto” certificate.
