Harsh weather conditions and minus zero temperature did not stop the famous Split association Most to organize the 18th charity fair entitled “Where are you?” on the 15th December 2018 at Gajo Bulat Square in Split. The main goal of this already traditional charity event is raising awareness about the issue of homeless people, as well as the promotion of solidarity and volunteering. Funds collected during the event are used to equip the Homeless Centre in Split and for personal needs of the Centre users.
More than 70 various organizations, institutions, schools, parties, entrepreneurs, associations and individuals took part in the charity event, where 650 volunteers helped in the sale of different items at 50 stalls. Aspira students have also participated in the charity, by selling the items they have collected during the month of December at the university coffee shop. The items included various antiques, such as Christmas decorations, old records, novels, picture books, furniture and sports equipment.
Đordana Barbarić, the president of the association Most, was pleased with the big turn-out and general interest in participation in the charity fair – A huge number of people have been preparing for this charity event for weeks, asking what they should bring or do. All this became larger than the story of Most – “Where Are You?” has become the charity event of the whole town.
We are extremely proud that our students have recognized the importance of humanitarian action and volunteering. Their contribution has certainly made the holidays more cheerful for the under- privileged social groups!
