As part of the Erasmus + mobility program (BIP), Aspira students and employees spent five days in Porto learning how to organize a big football match and a whole series of other activities through the “Football business management with FC Porto” education. The entire education was brilliantly organized by the host Lusofona University in Porto and guests from Vives University of Applied Sciences in Belgium.
A dozen sports management students accompanied by dean Alen Jerkunica and coordinator for international cooperation Josip Radić spent the first day getting to know the other participants and then learned more about new trends in business models of football club management.
The second day was spent discussing sustainability, leadership, and the importance of the team for the success of the football club.
Right in the middle of the education, everyone’s favorite part is located, which is the match between Porto and Portimonense, which was co-organized by the participants of the education, and thus, from a practical example, they established everything that they learned theoretically throughout the rest of the education.
The day after the match, the topic was Marketing Management of the Sports Industry, and for the last day, a look into the future and the further development of football management was left.
Work activities were only part of the education, and in other moments the participants had free time, socializing and sightseeing in the city, and fun before leaving.
Studying is an ideal time to travel, and when you can also learn something new, it is an ideal combination.
