A combination of live and online session of the Economic Advisory Board was held at Aspira College on Friday, July 16th. The session was attended by representatives from tourism, sports, gastronomy and computing, from public and private sectors. The Economic Advisory Board is an advisory body of successful representatives of private and public sectors whose main goal is to bring students closer to the labor market and obtain information about the employer needs. The Economic Advisory Board provides support in all aspects educational processes at Aspira and is especially responsible for improving the position of students and their education.
The main focus of the session was to present the adopted changes and guidelines from the previous academic year related to teaching and internship.
In addition to the above topics, the projects that Aspira College participates in were also presented, and they are:
Project Aspiratur, which educated 118 hard-to-employ people and people with disabilities for jobs in tourism and hospitality.
Aspira College of Management and Design is also a partner in a project called TOURISM4ALL which aims to develop and promote a cross-border network of accessible tourist destinations with natural and cultural heritage through the promotion of social inclusion and promotion of tourism services for disadvantaged people (for example, people with disabilities, elderly people…). The project involves 13 partner organizations from the program area (Italy and Croatia) with the aim of exchanging experiences and harmonizing methods to ensure better cooperation between local stakeholders.
We are glad that this time as well we had the opportunity to listen to the advice and comments of business representatives so that we can transfer the most relevant skills to our students which they will need after graduation, especially in the current market conditions changed by the coronavirus pandemic.
