On Tuesday, 12 January 2016, Ph.D. Amelia Tomašević, a prominent tourist worker and winner of series of domestic and international professional recognitions, held a public lecture on the current trends in the hotel business at the University College Aspira. During the very interesting lecture students of the International Management of Hospitality and Tourism heard about many destinations and hotels all over the world and the latest series of details that will mark the year 2016. She introduced the trends at all levels of tourism and hospitality management, which will undoubtedly provide a broad picture with which the students will successfully continue their study.
Ph.D. Tomašević is one of the foremost experts in tourism and hospitality management in Croatia, with a lot of expertise and experience. In over 30 years of rich professional career, in addition to a lecture work in a number of higher education programs, work in Zagreb’s Hotel Esplanade points out, where she spent 22 years; first as a head of public relations and then 10 years as general manager. Furthermore, as a long time director of the Tourist Board of Zagreb, Mrs Tomašević is one of those most responsible for the development of the city of Zagreb as an important tourist destination.
She is the winner of numerous national and international awards, she has taught and still teaches at a number of higher education institutions in Croatia and Finland, Costa Rica and the Swiss hotel management school “Cesar Ritz”.
