As part of the Event Management course, students of Aspira University of Applied Sciences took part in a guest lecture by Gerardo Bielons, Director of the Events GB agency and an expert with many years of experience in sports management and working in an international sports environment.
Human Resources in Sports – The Key to Successful Organizations and Events
The lecture focused on human resources in sports, a field that often remains in the shadow of sporting results, even though people represent the foundation of every successful club, organization, or sports event. Through numerous examples from his professional practice, Gerardo Bielons emphasized the importance of selecting the right personnel, building strong and efficient teams, effective communication, and managing the challenges that sports managers face on a daily basis.
Working in a Dynamic Sports Environment
Special emphasis was placed on working with people in a dynamic and unpredictable sports environment, where pressure, short deadlines, and high expectations are part of everyday reality. Students had the opportunity to hear how theoretical knowledge is applied in real-life situations, as well as to actively participate in the lecture through questions and open discussion.
Connecting Education and Practice at Aspira University of Applied Sciences
The guest lecture provided students with valuable insight into sports management practice and clearly demonstrated how crucial human resources are to success in sports and the organization of sporting events.
Through guest lectures like this, Aspira University of Applied Sciences continues to bridge the gap between education and practice, enabling students to meet experienced professionals and gain knowledge relevant to their future careers.
