The beginning of December is the ideal time to review all past activities and events, so on December 12 and 13, 2023, the Community of Institutions for the Development of Human Resources and Adult Education at the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Agency for Vocational Education and Adult Education, organized an Overview conference steps taken in the area of quality, programs, access to target groups and media literacy.
The two-day conference was held in Hotel Antunović, and the goal of the conference was to provide an annual overview of the most important topics in the field of lifelong learning. The greatest emphasis was placed on lectures related to the establishment of a quality system in adult education institutions and the implementation of projects to improve the staff of adult education institutions.
Aspira played a special role in presenting the importance of establishing a quality system in adult education. On the second day of the conference, Dean Alen Jerkunica participated as a panelist in the discussion “External evaluation”, examples of good practice. Along with Aspira, representatives of Zagreb College of Crafts, Goran Švast, Ana Odak from POU Koprivnica, Mario Zamuda from POU Čakovec and Antonija Merdžan, Head of Quality Assurance at the Agency for Vocational and Adult Education, participated in the panel discussion.
In June of this year, Aspira began a formal external evaluation of adult education institutions, and this panel discussion was an opportunity for Dean Jerkunica to present his experience of external evaluation to all conference participants.
– In June of this year, we started the external evaluation of institutions for adult education and successfully passed it, thus overcoming an important challenge. This process helped us to improve the quality of our programs and I encourage everyone else to follow this path and strengthen their competencies in the field of adult education. We are particularly proud that we are among the first three institutions in Croatia that have completed the external evaluation process, explained the experience of Aspira Dean Alen Jerkunica.
It was through practical advice and examples that Dean Jerkunica tried to help the participants of the conference, and special emphasis was placed on the self-evaluation process itself and on the goals that each institution must set and in this way ensure the quality of its institution in the long term, which will certainly bring a good result in the assessment. qualities.
