Aspira University of Applied Sciences officially opened the new 2025/2026 academic year with a special program dedicated to welcoming freshmen. A wonderful atmosphere, socializing, and motivational messages marked the very first day of the new generation of students as they embarked on their major academic journey.

Awards for the Most Successful Students
Traditionally, the ceremony was also an opportunity to recognize students who stood out during the previous academic year. The best were awarded for:

exceptional extracurricular engagement
The “Žarko Bilić Award” was also presented to professors who, according to students, contributed the most to the quality of teaching.
These recognitions reaffirm Aspira’s mission – to acknowledge and reward excellence, hard work, and innovation among both students and professors.

Inspirational Speeches and a Message for the Future
The ceremony was also attended by distinguished professionals: Antun Matejčić from OTP Bank, Bruno Šundov, former NBA player and President of Basketball Club Adriatic, and Lidija Mamić, restaurant manager at Dvor. They shared their professional experiences with students and emphasized the importance of connecting theoretical knowledge with real-world practice.
The message was clear – Aspira is not only a place to study, but also a springboard for a future career.
