Representatives of the quality assurance and improvement unit held a workshop on the quality system called “The Role of Quality in Higher Education” for the employees of the Polytechnic. At the workshop, teachers were introduced to basic terms in the field of quality systems, the basic factors of quality assurance in higher education were presented.
The basic principles that are foreseen in the Standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European area of higher education are listed, and which the Republic of Croatia will have to adhere to because it has committed to this by signing the Bologna Declaration. It also talks about the measures taken in Croatia with the aim of establishing and improving quality at higher education institutions through the work and activity of the Agency for Science and Higher Education (AZVO) as an agency for quality assurance in higher education and science founded on the model of the practices of European Union countries. By achieving full membership in the umbrella European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education – European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and by being included in the European Register of Agencies for Quality Assurance in Higher Education. They are also familiar with the reaccreditation process, that is, the process of evaluating higher education institutions and the criteria for evaluating higher education institutions. The workshop also discussed the system certified in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 9001: 2015 standard, as well as the need to revise certain procedures of the quality management system and internal audit.
