Aspira University College is proud to have one more world-famous company as a partner! Kotányi is a company that has a leading position on the market of herbs and spices. Its story begun long ago, in 1881 when Janos Kotanyi built the cornerstone of the pepper mill in Szeged. All the rest is history! Today Kotanyi grew to become an international chain that operates in almost all European countries, thanks to its rich tradition and top-notch management. They raise more than 400 types of classical herbs used to produce more than 4000 high-quality spice mixtures.
After signing the partnership, the students of the first international study of Gastronomy at Aspira in Split and Zagreb, will be introduced to different types of spices and their usage in everyday meal preparation. Quality education and the right usage of spices will definitely enrich the gastro-experience of the food they will be preparing at Aspira Culinary Practicum.
The start of Aspira-Kotanyi cooperation was marked by the Christmas Culinary Workshop held at the newly-opened Kotányi Gourmet Club in Zagreb, where Gastronomy students from Zagreb prepared meals with the culinary legends of Croatian gastronomy: Stevo Karapandža, chef Davida Skoko and Hrvoje Zirojević, pastry chef Suzy Josipović Redžepagić and MasterChef winner Lana Klingor Mihić. These top chefs have let Aspira students in on a secret of perfect holiday manu preparation. There is no doubt that our Gastronomy students enjoyed the company of culinary elite and that they will use only the finest Kotanyi herbs to spice up their meals!
