Out of 44 registered projects for the competition UNIverzI-JA-DA, Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovations and Investments (HAMAG-BICRO), in cooperation with the Croatian Ministry of Tourism, the City of Zagreb and the Association of European University Games Zagreb-Rijeka 2016, selected 10 student teams with the best ideas. Project UNIverzI-JA-DA, which allocates financial funds to the best student projects that provide best solutions for problems during the European University Games in Zagreb and Rijeka in July 2016, has provided finalists, including our sophomore sport management Ivo Brajlović, a cash prize of HRK 10,000 and the opportunity of realization of the project.
The main objective of the project UNIverzI-JA-DA is to give students the opportunity to take on real tasks and, with the support of mentors, educate and learn about entrepreneurship and realize their innovative ideas. Students had a chance to apply via Network of student business incubators (MSPI), whose activities are focused on mentoring, education and encouraging students to enter into entrepreneurship and to develop entrepreneurial skills while studying at Universities.
– I am delighted that I have entered the top 10 teams in Croatia and won motivational 10,000 kunas for my idea. This type of competition and creating the idea as well as the implementation itself is what allows any active student to demonstrate his or her ideas, knowledge and enter the entrepreneurial world prior to graduation. I am very pleased with the success, but a small step separates me from the finals on January 11th, 2016 in Zagreb, where I will present the project publicly and in detail from concept to actual feasibility – told us the student Brajlović, and described the project:
– My project “Coccoball” is actually fun and recreational project that competes in the category Touristic promotion of culture and sport in Croatia. It’s the only sport in the world where women have to judge men, which is played with hairy ball 2 kg heavy, in which players wear one strap shirts, in which small and large baskets are placed on the palm trees and inside the field, where there is no my and your side, in which everything is permitted, except that you would not like happening to you. All in all, I’m happy I am among the 10 best teams and that my mentors helped with their advice to show the project in the best light. Now it’s all as the motivational phrase states, “go hard or go home”.
