On Wednesday, October 01 2014, in Aspira was held the ceremony of beginning the new academic year 2014/2015 – professional study program of Sports Management University College of Aspira.
The ceremony began with a Dean’s, Slobodan Dragičević, speech who warmly welcomed all participants and freshmen and wished every success in the study. He pointed out that so far, according to the labor market forecast in Croatia, results for a sports managers looks very good because even 88% of graduates are employed immediately, or they continued further their education at the graduate level.
As part of the ceremony, the best student of undergraduate professional study program of Sports management Nino Kapitanović and the best student of graduate specialist study program of sports management Dora Radić received Dean’s award as a commendation for outstanding contribution to the work of the University College of Aspira.
Also, Aspira students, conquerors of significant sporting achievements, Sandra Paović, Tonči Stipanović and Ivana Šutalo, Dean has awarded with special recognition. Afterwards, the students were addressed by numerous dignitaries: Izet Rađo – vice president of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina and professor with the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, Ante Radovčić – representative of Split-Dalmatia County, Vlatko Škiljo front Split sports association, Alijana Vukšić – Director of the Tourist Board of Split and Miroslav Ivić – CEO Slobodna Dalmacija. The ceremony was attended by many current and former athletes businessmen, representatives of the City and County and Aspire friends, who are in their speeches stressed the importance of University College of Aspira in academic and sports world and the responsibility of employers to this profile of professionals.
The Director of University College of Aspira, Milivoj Jerkunica, pointed out that the Aspira this days has been accredited as a high-quality educational institutions by the Agency for Science and Higher Education in Croatia. After that, Chairman of the Aspira Council, Alen Jerkunica informed students about the education of sports managers at Aspire, Catherine Drpić informed them with the rules of study and Antonio Akmadžić with the work of the student union and extracurricular activities at Aspira.
